Biography: Dan Moy’s faith is at the core of who he is and what he stands for. Dan was raised by loving, hardworking Christian parents who modeled integrity, character, and service in every endeavor. Dan’s values stem from the richness of that upbringing, the lessons of his personal faith experience, and the grace that has enabled him to lead with courage and conviction throughout his career of military service. Dan’s relationship with Jesus Christ is what grounded him, strengthened him, and motivated him as he led troops in Afghanistan and it will continue to be his guiding light in Congress.
Dan is married to the love of his life, Kellie, and resides in Charlottesville, Virginia where they are raising their two sons Caleb and Titus.
Dan holds a doctoral degree in history from the University of Oklahoma. He is a graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College, the West Point Seminar in Military History, and the George C. Marshall Center’s “Leaders for the 21st Century” international security studies program. Dan also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Virginia’s Batten School of Public Policy. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Why you? Last November, Glenn Youngkin drew the blueprint for Republicans winning in Virginia. This wasn’t by stoking fear and it wasn’t about blaming everyone else for our problems. It’s about Republicans showing how we are going to make Virginia a better place to live, work, and raise a family. That is why I entered this race. I will listen to the people of the 5th district and fight for sensible solutions without compromising on our conservative values.
We deserve a Congressman who leads with vision and action. We must do better for our families, kids, business, seniors, and military veterans.
Bob Good has had over a year in office, and simply isn’t getting the job done. There has been too much grandstanding and not enough results. We must do better.
Strong National Defense
Peace through strength, with a strong military and national defense against Russia and China
Equipping our troops so they can protect our country
Supporting veterans when they return home
According to Dan Moy’s website – Bob Good, sponsored bill to block security support to Ukraine and left Americans vulnerable by voting against cyber-defense funding
Voted to defund our military and strip America of needed missile defenses, sea power, and combat capability
Voted against giving troops a 2.7% raise that would help them survive our highest inflation rate in 40 years
Dan Moy
Workforce Development and Excellence in Education beyond 4-year colleges
Bringing back manufacturing and creating jobs
Limiting regulations that stifle growth and making sure small businesses can thrive
According to Dan Moy’s website – Bob Good, has been MIA on this important topic
Dan Moy
Focus on real problems in the 5th district – opioids, improving our schools, empowering parents, and addressing mental health needs.
Vision for the future that keeps our country, communities, and families safe and prosperous.
According to Dan Moy’s website – Bob Good, voted against supporting veterans with PTSD or spinal cord injuries
Voted against bills aimed at combating the opioid crisis in Virginia’s 5th District
The Republican margin of victory in Virginia’s 5th District has continued to get tighter in each race, with Bob Good winning by only 52% of the vote in an R+7 district that should have been a safe win. Good has proven to be an ineffective leader, which Democrats will exploit if he is the candidate again in 2022. We must not settle for Good. It’s time to elect our best, stand with our troops, focus on the economy, and lead from strength. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
What are your priorities?
Securing a strong national defense.
As tensions rise globally, a strong national defense is more important than ever. I am uniquely positioned to speak to this and ensure we are safe both at home and abroad as our enemies become bolder. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Preserving the sanctity of life.
Every life is God-given and sacred. I will passionately work to protect life from conception, defund Planned Parenthood, and promote adoption. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Listening to you.
It is not enough to simply vote right on issues. I am running to listen to your needs and fight for YOU in DC. I will always be receptive, caring and responsive to your needs and concerns as YOUR representative in the United States Congress. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Defending our gun right.
The most essential right that protects all others is our 2nd Amendment guarantees. After seeing citizens firsthand unable to protect themselves overseas, I will adamantly defend our right to bear arms and protect our families. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Championing individual liberty.
Radical leftists are trying to gain control over our lives, control our businesses, and undermine our religious freedom. I will always stand between you and those who want to control your faith, livelihood, personal decisions, and businesses. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Balancing our budget.
In a few short years, our nation’s interest payments alone will consume our entire national budget. We must address this before our children inherit a bankrupt America. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Standing with law enforcement & first responders.
The Thin Blue Line is what stands between safe communities and total chaos. We have seen this line truly tested in recent years by politicians and criminals alike. I will always stand strong in support of our police and first responders. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Keeping political agenda out of our schools.
I will stand with Governor Youngkin on the federal level to keep political agendas out of our schools, ensure curriculum transparency, and support school choice. Schools should teach children how to think, not what to think. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Working with Governor Glenn Youngkin.
I was a proud supporter of Gov. Youngkin, and led his Veteran’s Coalition for our region, and will work closely with him to ensure his four year agenda for Virginia is supported from my office in DC. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Bringing back manufacturing.
It’s time to rebuild the manufacturing capacity in the US and bring our jobs back from Mexico and China. I will make bringing these jobs back to Southside one of my top priorities once in Congress. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Renewing our economy.
The Biden economy is devastating families and killing businesses as we suffer the highest inflation in over 40 years. I will fight to ensure we quit printing and sending out “free” money, get the government’s foot off the throat of small business, and lower taxes on hard working Americans. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)
Finish the border wall.
Biden’s open borders agenda has created a border crisis WORSE than ever as he has endangered American families by trying to suspend deportations, stop repairing gates, and weaken immigration enforcement. I will lead to finish the wall, stop illegal immigration, and secure our borders. (Source: https://www.danmoyforcongress.com/)

I have also taught military and American history at the Air Force Academy and know the imperative of imparting the lessons of our founding to the next generation of Americans in order to preserve our great Republic. (Provided 5.8.2022)
What are your thought on government transparency?
The surest way to keep our government accountable and to reduce corruption and malfeasance is through a continuous call for government transparency and public access to elected officials and policymaking. Elected officials work for the people and must be held accountable in all areas in order to earn the trust of those they serve. (Provided 5.8.2022)
What are your thoughts on national defense? Professes absolute support for national defense and veterans.
The preamble of our Constitution tells us that one of our government’s top priorities is to provide for the common defense. Our Republican Creed in Virginia asserts that peace is best preserved through a strong national defense. My 27 years of military service were predicated upon that principle, and it is one of the reasons I am now running for Congress. We have the lowest number of military veterans serving on Capitol Hill since WWII and it shows. We need to be unwavering when it comes to supporting our national security and the men and women of our military who have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution. (Provided 5.8.2022)
“The Veterans Coalition for Colonel Dan Moy” is activating thousands of veterans and military advocates across Virginia’s 5th District who stand ready to help Dan Moy secure the nomination. We are sending a clear message to DC that voting against veterans and defunding our military, as Bob Good and Joe Biden have attempted, will not be tolerated by the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms. What are your thoughts on the role the family plays in America?
The family is the cornerstone of our social fabric and the strength of our Republic. Strong families foster individual responsibility, stronger communities, and a vibrant nation. God has ordained that families serve as the bedrock of our communities and way of life. Parents are the first and foremost authority in determining their children’s health, well-being, and education, and those rights are essential in preserving the liberties we cherish as Americans. (Provided 5.8.2022)
What are your thoughts on equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity, as opposed to equal outcomes?
Our Declaration of Independence proclaims that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. Because these rights are divinely ordained, they are immutable. Equality under the law and the right to equal justice and opportunity is a fundamental building block of our American Republic. As Republicans, we champion the free enterprise system and the tenet that every citizen has the unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is not government’s role to ensure equal outcomes. Only individuals can determine their own path and pursuits, in light of the freedoms that our government affords. (Provided 5.8.2022)
